About the Program:  St. Francis Preparatory School’s Music department has distinguished itself through numerous standout performances, as well as significant recognitions.  We were the first school ever to earn the Middle States Association’s Program of Distinction in Music, which is “aimed at recognizing only those schools with the most sophisticated programs and the highest goals in music education.”

We have been recognized the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation (NAMM) and Music for All’s Advocacy in Action.  We received a Proclamation from the Assembly of the State of New York.  Finally, we have been recognized by the Long Island Music Hall of Fame and their High School Recognition Program.

Our program is unique, in that there is a place for students of all levels, regardless of experience.

We teach Music to over 1,500 students, or over 60% of the student body.
