#225. Always

The remarkable Maya Angelou so eloquently stated, “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.” And that, my friends, is why music education, in every form, is so powerful, important, evocative, formative, profound, addicting, fulfilling, inspiring, and captivating. Think about it: words are great, actions are important, but feelings are what stay with us forever. So remember that those musically emotional moments you help your students feel will be with them always. That the way we make each of them feel about themselves will be with them always. And that the gift of the power of music we help instill in each of our students will help them explore their emotions, explain their feelings, describe their thoughts, embrace their humanity and find beauty in their world, always.
