“You must aim high, not in what you are going to do at some future date, but in what you are going to make yourself do today. Otherwise working is just a waste of time.” Those remarkable words by the renowned French Impressionist artist Edgar Degas are as insightful as they are powerful. They offer much to consider. They offer much to guide our efforts and those of our students each and every day. Sharing his words with all those we teach might be as important as any goal we might have for today’s classes or rehearsals.
