John C. Maxwell stated, “Success is due to our stretching to the challenges of life. Failure comes when we shrink from them. I think it is fair to say that we, along with our students, have “stretched” more in recent weeks and months than possibly ever before. Maybe take a few minutes and send your students a message simply telling them how proud you are of them. Don’t add it to the bottom of an assignment you’re sending out, or at the end of a project you are grading. Rather, just send a note of recognition, praise, and appreciation. Success can be felt and measured in many ways. Reading something like that from you may very well be just what every student needs right now – maybe always.
